Financial Empowerment Over Self Pity.

Image
If he won’t eat the food you sweat by the fire to cook, knife cutting you or hot oil splashing on you, please proceed and eat alone, pray, bath and sleep. If there are kids or a kid eat with them and enjoy. You want to starve over a man who gives no hoot about you? If he won’t come home early and you are tired of complaining, pray for yourself first to sleep and wake up alive and then pray for him to be safe out there because no matter what if he’s harmed you will feel the pain. But please dont stay all night crying over a man who has no dignity?  A man who doesn’t stop to think that, you also need some love and cuddles?  A man who rather than strengthening his family bond, goes about chasing women? If he is not giving you the money to buy that beautiful thing you want, what’s stopping you from taking the money from your own  salary or the profit you make from running your own business to buy something you love once awhile? Instead of crying for a wish  that will never be fulfilled.

That’s not

“Adiza Ibrahim Sadiq, founder  of the Zongo Women Empowerment programme has spoken on behalf of all Zongo women that they do not want autocratic men who will not allow them take steps to becoming financially independent women. She explained to host, Eunice Dede Tornyi on eTV Ghana’s African Women’s Voices that in Islam, men are the leaders in a household and they are supposed to be responsible for the family’s upkeep, not to be autocratic, hence the women do not expect such behaviour. “Things are changing. If you’re not allowing her to pursue her dreams, it’s not fair. You married her with a degree and you’re telling her not to work because you don’t want her to go out there. When your wife grows and she becomes phenomenal, you become phenomenal yourself. We have a lot of women in the Zongo who have potential but some of the men don’t allow us”, she sounded to the men. According to Adiza, the Islam religion understands that women are worthy to be independent, hence liberates them, but
