OUR DIAMOND MUSLIM WOMAN CRUSH

Image
Our Diamond Muslim Woman Crush is Zaliatu Lami Muntari, this beautiful intelligent married and a mother of two have been working as Cabin Crew  with Emirates Airlines for 10 years. Masha Allah! If you have  had the privilege to be selected for an interview with Emirates you will understand its a big deal to get the chance to work with them. I attempted working with the Emirates and applied to go through the process but got discouraged at a point because I was made to believe cabin crews, especially women stand a low chance of marrying and giving birth because of the nature of their job constantly travelling and in the air but today Zulaiha’s story made me believe otherwise. She’s been working with Emirates Airlines from 2008, travelling all over the world but managed to build a beautiful home with 2 kids.  I may have lost out on a dream as a result of believing the rumours and narratives associated to being a flight attendant (please pardon my young self and naivety) but I am

BEING A GREAT CAREER WOMAN AND A REPONSIBLE WIFE

Image
A woman with a career is worthy of attention. Juggling between a career woman and creating that successful married home is not easy. For a HAPPY HOME and HAPPY CAREER, equal attention must emanate. Either your career will go down the drain before your own eyes or you will  lose your  beautiful marriage because you  have placed too much focus on building only  your career and not  your matrimonial home and vice versa. Any married woman who runs her own business or does a corporate work is undisputedly a super woman because it is very challenging. Keeping a home and having to go out there and work too. Don’t mess up your marriage because of your job and don’t also  quit  your job because of the marriage. Make sure you balance both to achieve a maximum satisfaction. Be that career woman and still rock your husband’s world and your matrimonial home like nobody’s business. Any one with experience will attest to the fact that, it is very difficult and stressful combining  these two

NEW WEEK INSPIRATION

Image
It’s a new week, go out there and be that strong person. “Strong people acquire knowledge in order to understand people and the world on a deeper level. Strong people don’t require the consensus of others to determine whether on not their outlook is valid. They strive to earn as much as possible, and are willing to maintain an open mind to the differences of others.” Happy new week DiamondsπŸ’ŽπŸ’Ž #strongpeople #mondayinspiration #work #corporatewoman #career woman #speak2change #write2inform #share2change #kuburahdiamonds #modernmuslimwoman #love #selflove #beYou #blogger #mother #wife #friend #lover #fashionlover #woman

This  same article THE SPECTATOR published yesterday was first posted on 2 different social media platforms. From the very minute I posted, I knew I have done something right. The feedbacks, was overwhelming. My friend requests started increasing, my inbox was flooded with messages from known and unknown people telling me how the story has informed and opened their eyes to the bitter truth and the reality.   I also posted it on my own page  “Kuburah Diamonds The Modern Muslim Woman” which has  my number so it got others also calling and whatsapping me to come join their zongo  advocacy groups which aims at mentoring  the younger ones.  Hmmm am lost for words. My dad always said, if you want to tell a story, tell it when you have enough information, let your story depict the reality. Tell it to give  a moral lesson. Let that story to motivate, inspire, educate and change somebody. I wrote this article using me as the case study plus the other stories I have personally witnessed

JUST DO IT

Image
I love to write a lot but I love to write not just about anything but things that I find it relevant. Things that I know can inspire, educate and motivate somebody. Things that can change people’s mentality. Am not too old with much experience in life but I think with my few years knowledge, expertise  and experience into the working class space, marriage, motherhood, family life, society, fashion and more,  I am able to rite what I know and confident about. I write the  real truth about these because I have first hand information.  The whole agenda is to make your reader who is in the same situation feel they are not alone. Is to inform another person who intends going on that same stretch that, hey this and that are the real issues so make a good decision. I love to tell it just how it is. I use my personal life experiences as the case study and so they are not concocted. My greatest fear is to start writing and get stuck a paragraph because am probably lost for any idea

In the past, a muslim woman was someway somehow not a pleasant feeling when you find yourself being stereotyped because of your religion.  Growing up, I personally felt and experienced how a  zongo Muslim woman wasn’t given a job offer and also the chance to handle some key roles because of her identity (hijab).  Alhamdullilah! today that narrative and misconception about the zongo woman in Hijab is changing.  Most of us refuse to be tagged us dump, uneducated, skilful and enterprising. We refused to be only labelled as the kitchen girls or betroth into any early marriage.  The Muslim girl has found the true definition of what a woman of substance means and so is working at reaching it.   She’s taken serious interest in her education and furthering it to the highest level.  With her skills and capabilities, she’s found her feet so well and is also employing many others into caving a better future for themselves.  In her beautiful veil, she walks modestly an

CHILD BIRTH BEFORE MARRIAGE, THE EMOTIONS AND THE SOCIETAL JUDGEMENT . “If you abort it I will tell your family and my family and that will be a serious embarrassment to you because abortion is a crime and against Islam given the circumstance you got pregnant.” These were the exact words from my fiancΓ©e.  Sadly , my pregnancy issue showed its ugly head at a time my family were waiting to get the marriage date from his family because the knocking ceremony was already done by his family just some months ago.  Dreadfully, it was the most crucial moment of my life. The mere thought about my pregnancy alone scared me to core. I dread public ridicule and family disappointment especially my father.  I was always asking myself why I waited till after dating this guy for almost 6 years and just when we were about marrying I found myself in deep water. I was so disappointed in my own self and for disappointing everybody especially my father in cognizance of the Hoy Quran’s stan

Hello Diamonds πŸ’Ž                                  Wednesday Modern Muslim Woman Outfit Inspiration                                 If you love your waist line high to keep your silhouette  in check, shop for a high waisted belted trousers. πŸ’―                                             Whether it’s wide legs, skinny, slim fit, cigarette, slim line or check tapered you can still rock it with your beautiful flowery, graffiti and plain shirt just  to keep your hands covered.   If the trousers is busy with patterns go for a plain shirt otherwise do a busy top with a plain trousers. I personally love to do the ones with the tie waist so it can keep my waist line in shape and also hide any bulge I have around that area.   These types of trousers are not only trendy but take away the concentration of the extra fat centred at the upper tummy and lower abdomen. Be that Diamond πŸ’Ž  #ottd# #modernwoman# modestdressing# #inspiration# #high waisted trousers# #grafittishirts

If I tell you I regret changing up to 14 times outfits  in days on my marriage day will you believe me? Yes, because those clothes are still laying down in the same suitcase they were packed in during the marriage ceremony. I just wasted my father, my own money and husbands money for just show off.  My dear sisters, any other thing that happens after blessing of the marriage is a cultural initiative and not religiously stated in the Holy Quran. Our changing of outfits has got nothing absolutely nothing to do with what  Prophet Mohammed SWT stated in the Holy book in connection to marriage. Don’t let anyone misled you.  Most of us know this very well because we have been to Arabic schools and so know the teachings of Islam  but we simply refuse to let it sink in. So many times, we Ignorantly confuse culture and religion. At other times, we tend to think both are  the same but they are so not the same.  Culture is a way of life whiles religion is the belief in and worship of
