Kuburah Diamonds Ramadhan Elements

Alhamdullilah Alhamdullilah! The ever most beautiful month and the only HOLY month is the Islamic Calendar is here again.

I would say Alhamdullilah for the umpteenth and still be willing to say more. You know why? Because it’s just by Allah’s infinite mercy and grace you, you and I are alive to witness yet another important month like this for Muslims.

Fasting is a solid pillar in Islam and this can never be over emphasised or downplayed. As Muslims except for the aged, pregnant women, nursing mothers, ill- fit persons, pregnant women, women who have menstrual bleeding and people travelling on long journeys, everyone is expected to fast for 29-30 days. Infact,  it’s an obligation and so it’s a must!

Ironically, the blessings of this month are so overwhelming such that the people who are exempted form taking part, find it emotionally disheartening but for their health issues they have little or no option at all to stay off. Now tell me what will make you and I who are very fit deny ourselves from the mammoth blessings  that comes with participation in this beautiful journey. A beautiful month in our lives  that comes to meet only the  very fortunate ones. Every year we begin but don’t finish with the very people we started with similarly we end the previous year with some people we know but don’t start a new year with them.

It’s Day-1 of 2019 Ramadhan and I would like to take you through these 5 Basic ingredients of Ramadhan.

5 Element of Ramadhan
  1. “Tariku Salat” is not allowed during fasting. And same way fasting without salat is Null. “Tariku Salat” is piling up the respective  daily prayers and performing them all at once or at a ‘desired’ convenient time. It is said that, the kind of blessings that comes with praying on time during Ramadan carries a lot of weight you and I can never imagine and so we have to make that conscious effort regardless the situation to pray on time. Yes, sometimes, our work activities and schedules makes it difficult to adhere to the time of prayers and so we are forced to skip and pray later but please for the month of Ramadhan let’s us all including me  strive to perform  our prayers on time. Salat is a great act of worship and it goes hand in hand with fasting.
  2. Just like me who doesn’t really know how to read all the verses in the Holy Quran, which am not shy about because I am still striving to be a better MUSLIM. But regardless, I still make it a habit to read and read again where ever I am and I get the little free space  via my mobile phone on the internet some verses I am familiar with hoping  to get at least some blessings for the recitation  of the Holy Book.
  3. Any right thinking Muslimah whether married or unmarried should know that sex is prohibited during fasting. Under no circumstance, should anyone of us fall prey to even the intention of having sexual intercourse during this period. Yes for us the married ones, we are even lucky after the break of fast, we are allowed to have the pleasure of making love with our spouse and this in turn earns us some more blessings but then again, this does mean, you or your spouse is supposed to engage in conversations that will lead to arousing each other’s  sexual thirst. It’s very wrong. Do talk not about sex or things that will tempt or lead your partners into thinking/ wanting to have sex. It’s a big sin.
  4. A fasting person must stay clear off food and anything liquid during the day, after the dawn until after sunset. It’s not the best to say up night eating and drinking in order to make up for the next day fastIng as well. Trust me, you will be cheating yourself and not Allah. Too much of everything becomes bad.
  5. Engaging in negative conversations, watching explicit videos and movies, listening to negative audios, back biting, fighting, insulting, cursing and  lying are all prohibited. These are sinful acts.

I fall short of Allah’s teachings and ways each passing time but I still strive to become a  better muslim. May Allah continue to make it easy for us and forgive us all our shortcomings. And may Jannatul Fridaus May the home of all departed. Ameen
