You see we  women ‘including me’ in general just love to always play the gender game or the victim. Even if we have men who try their best, some of us will still make the situation seems we are the  only or most hardworking and supportive partners at the least opportunity  given to us. Glad our maiden meet and greet session with the  Waakye seller’s  daughter, the lady who attended a public school , the lady who did a lot of work without salary but was still determined.  Writing and posting  about her, her career, her successes and all that to me, shouldn’t  only end with people reading and commenting they feel inspired.  Creating the social development impact by setting a platform for those who want to meet her is more significant to me and her also because she also runs a platform that seeks to bring Muslim Women around the world together.  The session is my own small way of creating a platform that will enable some of the young girls/ women (Muslims/ Christians)  who want to peruse the  Cabin Crew Career.  These women reached out via inbox messages requesting to meet her in person and ask her questions relating  to the Aviation Profession. Taking a step is better than not taking step at all. Last Sunday, I took my first baby steps of that dream in creating a platform “big or small) that will bring any of  our Muslim Women Achievers doing well in their respective careers, professions and enterprises closer to the young girls that their stories inspired and so want to meet them and ask their own questions. The Muslim Woman Achiever ‘Meet & Greet’ platform will not only target the young girls from ZONGO communities and it is not also for only Muslim women resources persons.  This platform is targeted to reach any young girl/ woman  regardless their  religious backgrounds. The  young girl  who needs to be told , her situation is not one of a kind but there are other women with similar or even worse situations than her, yet are going  further to achieve greater roles in their diverse fields. In the zongo communities, we have so many  great talents. From Seamstresses to very good cooks that will make you wake up in the middle of the night to and go stand in a long queue for hours  just to buy their foods, we’ve got some great  hair stylist, embroidery designers, make up artistes and so on and so fourth. If most of these talents will be as professional as this Henne Designer, then am proud to say ZONGO is the future for business opportunities and avenues.  My sister and I were elated to receive a  detailed confirmation message from a “Mei yin Lele” meaning Henna designer! There is a lot to talk about when it comes to our zongo regarding the inhuman things that our young innocent females have to go through in the hands of some irresponsible Muslim men, worst of it is the Makaranta mallams who hide behind the religion and title to cause harm to these girls.  Well to start with :  MAKARANTA:  It has always been an open secret in some of our communities that the Arabic schools most of these ladies attended isn’t what it’s supposed to be after all. Most of the young girls over the years have being sexually molested by the very people they refer to as their Mallams meaning “Arabic school teachers”.  Believe it or not, most of our Arabic schools are breeding grounds for sexual molestation . Most of the mallams hide behind their titles to  take advantage of these innocent girls who come to learn garner some knowledge.
