THE PRESIDENT LIFTS LOCKDOWN BUT BE CONSCIOUS ABOUT CORONA SAFETY MEASURES
esterday, the President directed we all go back to our work after the 3 weeks locked down.
I have read and heard many rants, submissions and commentary about this decision. Some are happy and others are not at all.
Some have questioned his decision, others have praised and the rest go with the flow.
It’s two or more things;
•You are not happy because you feel your life is at risk. (Everybody’s lives matter).
•The garlic seller or petty trader is not happy because the borders are closed so the business that’s supports her family needs is at a stand until further notice.
•The less privileged young man is also tired of going to queue for longer hours and still not getting any food package, so he’s better off going out to hustle and buy his own bread and butter.
•A business owner is worried because for a shop or company to close for 3 weeks means a great loss and employees will suffer more because the risk of redundancy might trigger if care is not taken.
•The benevolent are getting out of cash and products to support the less privileged and when they eventually do, both the donor and recipient will suffer.
So it’s a whole circle of having to meet
everybody’s needs and still ensuring the economy is economically runny and safe from this Pandemic.
Our President must be sitting on tenterhooks by now because the state and it’s people’s well-being is on his head no matter what.
So all I can say is, Intentionally do the things that will prevent you and others from getting infected.
Wash your hands regularly with soap under running water, use alcohol base sanitiser, cover your mouth if you sneeze and cough, wear gloves and nose mask in your dealings with people and practise social distancing. Call EMERGENCY number 112 if you need medical support.
Time will reveal whether the President’s decision is the best or not but for now don’t question his directive , yours is to follow the safety measures and don’t expect him or any authority to be following you everywhere to ensure that you practice safety measures.
Your life and that of others matter so do things that will keep everyone safe.
THANK YOU
