Women's Role To Keep The Home in Ramadhan Can Affect Their Time For Supplication and Quran Recitation If They Don't Plan Their Time Well.

Dutiful and responsible wives, mothers, aunties, sisters and grandmothers receive so much blessings every time of their lives but in the month of Ramadan receive even more blessing because of the role they play in keeping the home running. Due to this, they might miss fulfilling some significant element of Ramadhan.

Sometimes, intentionally or unintentionally, the multiple roles they play, prevent them from performing some key essentials that comes with the beautiful month. Instead, they strive on doing  things to please mankind. (Husband, children, nuclear and extended family).

Except a nursing mother  or a woman who's in her  period, every mother and wife must fast and still still ensure that her  home is conducive so her family will be well and hearty.

“Fasting in the month of Ramadan is obligatory for all Muslim men and women. It is mentioned in the Holy Quran, Surah al-Baqarah, Verse 183,

“O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, even as it was prescribed for those before you that you may ward off evil.”

In Ramadhan, these people are responsible of cooking Suhoor and Iftar and that can be daunting especially when they have a big family.

While keeping the home, taking care of the children, going to work or managing their own businesses, they might lose on performing Nawafil and reciting the Holy Quran.

“Nawafil draws us closer to Allah (SWT) and helps us to attain better success in this life and also in the hereafter. Out of our five times obligatory prayers and Witr (wajib prayer which is offered after Eisha prayer), we can obtain extra benefits by performing many types of voluntary prayers.” Daily Sun

Due to fatigue, praying on time becomes a challenge and even when they finally catch up, they forget some of their prayer points or rush the prayer just so they can quickly get back to performing the house chores. I am sometimes guilty of this. Allah gave mercy!

Imagine a tired person praying. I doubt any of us want to meet Allah in this mood and not on any other day but Ramadhan. Never!

Allah Himself won't appreciate that we come before Him looking or feeling tired, He will be happy to receive us wide awake so we will be send in our prayer requests fully.

He does also not also expect us to allow worldly things to take away our attention from Him especially in Ramadan.

Much as, we are determined to keep our home, let’s not burden ourselves so much with chores that take a better part of us and our time which ideally must  be spent with our Maker.
He’s a God who understands our struggles and is ever forgiving so He’ll definitely understand it when we once a while leave the cooking and cleaning to spend graceful time with Him.

Nobody is against us cooking for your family, but let's manage our time such that, it only settle  around cooking alone, and when cooking, we can do that in moderation so it  doesn’t take the time to recite the Holy Book. Very important.

Remember, it’s onus on us to make time to read the Quran because it’s an integral element  of Ramadan. Ramadan is a special month, one that Allah hears our cry, the most forgiving month and the month  Allah sends down His Angels down to come and listen to our prayers requests so He fulfils them so let’s not focus only on cooking and cleaning and thinking that makes up for the lost opportunities we are given to get closer to our maker.

That’s why sometimes, it’s better we take a break for our job during Ramdhan just to stay home and have a good time with our maker and family instead of joggling between keeping up to satisfy everyone.

Let us not be gullible to think that, we are performing our wife or motherly duties and so that will make up for this, it is  good to be a good home maker but that also comes with Allah's but that alone won't also earn us  the full blessings of the month because we have a shortfall of making time to work for that.

Focusing/ spending all our time cooking and cleaning alone throughout the month and  not on performing the most important aspects of Ramadhan is not the best of acts.

Our fathers, uncles, husbands and brothers, try not to burden the women so much that, they miss out on those  important acts during Ramadhan.

May Allah make it easy for us. Ameen.
