THE MUSLIM WOMAN ACHIEVER

Image
In the zongo communities, we have so many  great talents. From Seamstresses to very good cooks that will make you wake up in the middle of the night to and go stand in a long queue for hours  just to buy their foods, we’ve got some great  hair stylist, embroidery designers, make up artistes and so on and so fourth. If most of these talents will be as professional as this Henne Designer, then am proud to say ZONGO is the future for business opportunities and avenues.  My sister and I were elated to receive a  detailed confirmation message from a “Mei yin Lele” meaning Henna designer! Immediately, we both went like this one is a PRO. No wonder most people we spoke to recommended her.  Take a read at what ensured between us and The Muslim Woman Achiever who’s proven to take the “Leilei” as we commonly call it in Hausa to a bigger and more attractive  level.  Growing up, I used to do Henna for my friends during Eid festivals and  family occasions.  I had passion for Arts

RANT OF A WORRIED ZONGO MAN

There is a lot to talk about when it comes to our zongo regarding the inhuman things that our young innocent females have to go through in the hands of some irresponsible Muslim men, worst of it is the Makaranta mallams who hide behind the religion and title to cause harm to these girls.  Well to start with :  MAKARANTA:  It has always been an open secret in some of our communities that the Arabic schools most of these ladies attended isn’t what it’s supposed to be after all. Most of the young girls over the years have being sexually molested by the very people they refer to as their Mallams meaning “Arabic school teachers”.  Believe it or not, most of our Arabic schools are breeding grounds for sexual molestation . Most of the mallams hide behind their titles to  take advantage of these innocent girls who come to learn garner some knowledge. There is a Mallam in Ashiaman who have impregnated about six girls already. Sad to say, after the cases are reported to the aut

Meet our Muslim Woman Achiever, Zaina Jajah of Zjajah Creations, a self taught hand made custom clothing and accessories designer.  This she achieved despite the challenges she went through in her young life. Her story is a big inspiration. And we love it because it sums up the popular saying, life is not a bed of roses but we still got to be determined.  Inspired by African history, heritage and beliefs, her clothing line gained a major fashion recognition with her 2018 Spring/Summer collection “SS#18 BORESAH “ in IFASHION Magazine for New York Fashion Week in February, 2018 at the World Trade Center in New York City.   And this came shortly after her first collection themed “BEAUTY & PRIDE” was showcased in Boston with Josefa Da Silva in August, 2017 and was also featured in BFW kick off with Ann Maven in the same year. Awesome!! In an interview, Zaina revealed the untold stories of her past which motived her to become who she is today.  She said, “though there

Muslim Marriage

Image
Yesterday and today have been a very special day in my life because  it makes me believe that, anything is possible once we decide and put our minds to it. Two people I know whom I assumed  could have marry and extravagantly change  into several outfits have  surprised me. Really surprised me.  The one who got married yesterday is a fashionista and could have easily afford to change into any number of outfits she wished  but surprisingly she went a modest way. Another  friend I have known since 2009  to be a business woman who travels  to Nigeria and back to bring clothes, fabrics and accessories like Laces, Fabrics, Gele and more to sell also got married today in a very modest way.  Am sure some of our Muslim sisters  who know her or probably live in the same neighbourhood with her will wonder why such a person who’s expected to rather change outfits on her marriage day because of the kind of business she runs, rather went the opposite way.  Indeed, marriage is a beau

Congratulations to this beautiful woman. She was born into  Christianity and have been a practising Christian all her life until 2 years ago when she converted to  the Islamic religion. Allahu Akbar!!! I asked her how people around her are taking her decision  and she proudly responded “Adiza, I stand for the truth and nothing else, am grounded in Islam and nothing can move me.” Days after my article “changing into several clothes doesn’t guarantee a successful marriage” was published by The Spectators, she sent me a message stating that, “Alhamdulillah....I pray our Moslem sisters read this and understand  well and went on to reveal that I should “Get ready oo.. November u will cover a simple marriage ceremony”. Honestly, I was shocked because this is someone I have known since 2006 and she comes from a very strict Christian home.  Long story short, Alhamdulliah and true to her words,  a simple beautiful marriage ceremony was blessed this morning. Next minute she was on her way to

High waist belted look book

TUESDAY LOOK BOOK.......//////////::.::.........:////: High waist belted trousers in this season is  definitely a must have honey. Depending on how you want to make that fashion statement, make sure your ensemble is just FABULOUS. You can wear it with t-shirt and long, short or 3- quarters sleeves. Don’t mix flowery patterned trousers or with flowery top. It makes it look too much if you not careful.  Don’t wear boot cut trousers with a peplum top.  If the top is up to the waist level don’t force to tack in. Tie the belt to look well tied. For hijabi modest fashion, rule out wearing crop top. It’s HARAM.  Leave that to the models and super stars. Not a thing for the Muslim woman.  High waisted trousers comes in different designs. The slim fit, the palazzo, the boot cut, the Capris, the leggings and boo hoo. Check your silhouette before choosing. I love them because they flatter the body. And if your tummy is not that flat, it’s can help do some magic. -wink

SELF LOVE

Love yourself enough to be able to let go of the things that do not give you absolute peace of mind.  Love yourself enough to let go of any association that does not add value to your life.  Love yourself enough to let go of anything that hinders your progress in life.  Choose you but don’t be selfish.  Spread love but make sure it’s reciprocated. #Self Awareness. #kuburahdiamonds #life #love #peace of mind #choice #option #woman of steel #write2change #speak2inform #write2motive #write2educate #self love #serenity #flowers #greens #wood #work location #office location #after work picture #outfit from the other day #hijab #hijab woman #hijabi #woman #muslim #inspiration #bodycon palazzo #waist jacket #black head gear
