Diamond Muslim Woman Achiever
With the 5 πππππ let’s celebrate this outstanding Diamond Muslim Woman Achiever Alimah Moro. Adjudged 2 times back to back AFRICAN BEST FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR 2013 and 2014 in Italy.
She has also been voted 9 times Best Goal Keeper in several leagues, matches and tournaments and has won 15 Awards so far in her career.
She’s indeed the real definition of the proverbial saying, “what a man can do, a woman can do and even better.”
Alimah Moro, an extraordinary young female Muslim footballer, doubles up as a personal trainer in the gym with her Bachelors Degree in Body Building & Fitness and also a certified African, Italian, German and Belgian Culinary Professional.
Even though she missed out big time on the final BLACK QUEENS selection to the 2016 Africa Women’s Nations Cup in Cameroon, it did not stop her from gathering the momentum to pursue her football career abroad.
Born and raised in Dansoman in Ghana, Alimah hails from Bawku in the Upper East Region and completed Tamale Senior High, TAMASCO. While in Ghana, she played for Fabulous Ladies in Kumasi before she joined her family in Europe.
Alimah is multi talented and experienced having played over 90 games so far in Germany, Belgium and currently in Italy where she lives. She is currently signed up by UPC Tavagnacco CLUB in the Italian Serie A women football league.
In Italy, She started off by playing for A.S.D LIGHI C.F MAROSTICA, VICENZA Calcio FEMMINILE and TREVIGNANO all serie C and B teams before proceeding to her current team.
Asked what prompted her to acquire a degree in culinary studies aside playing football as it’s quite unusual particularly for African footballers, Alima revealed that, she sought to acquire other skills to make her versatile and also take advantage of the enormous opportunities that abound in Europe. She stressed that football was her only passion but the moment she arrived in Europe and after careful observation, she advised herself to add another skill to her football career.
“The skill can save you after your football career ends someday.
I am a goal keeper but am learning to coach as so after retirement I can still coach young talents and still be relevant' she added.
“As a female footballer , I didn’t want to rely solely on my football career, in the footballing journey, there are some unpredictable injuries that can bring your career to an end at any given time, so I dedicated my spare time to learning some other skills in addition to the goal keeping career. That’s why I train, coach and cook aside business.” She further added
Alimah urges all young girls aspiring to become footballers to not focus only on football, but try to at least acquire other skills. She further urged them not to downplay the essence of education as being educated also helps in elevating one’s career to higher levels.
She said she is always mindful of where she comes from and how basic things are very difficult to get in her hometown so she’s not looking to fail at all.
As a way of also giving back to the society, she has a Female Foundation that supports the young ones in her village and anytime she visits Ghana, she donates things to them.
An educated footballer, a certified African, German, Italian and Belgium culinary specialist, a trained fitness trainer, an aspiring coach and a social entrepreneur certainly must earn you our 5 diamonds and a place on Kuburah Diamond Muslim achiever wall of fame. Please let’s all congratulate Alima Moro, she definitely is our crush for the week.
